It's time

I got an email yesterday stating that Sophie was going to trigger last night. Wow. I did not expect it would come so soon, but golly, I was excited to read that. The previous day, the email received had stated that her biggest follie was 17mm and that it would probably be 2-3 more days of stims until she triggered. Apparently not. Her egg retrieval is scheduled for Monday (tomorrow!), which means that our transfer will be on Saturday, June 23. I start my PIO shots this evening.

wow

We have kicked into high gear with trip preparations. There will be LOTS of time on different trains, so I am thinking about all the reading materials, magazines, etc, I will bring. What do you like to have when you go on long trips?

I am feeling rather positive about all this. Hope has crept back into my heart, on cue. I feel that taking the long view has helped me tremendously. If it doesn't work this time, we'll just go back in August and try again. We'll keep trying until it works or until we can no longer go forward.

  2. Oh I am so excited for you! I needed to read some good news today! Thinking nothing but positive thoughts for you. I always enjoy reading Real Simple when traveling- it's little snippets of info are about all I can focus on at one time. Of course, a good chick lit book is also a good choice in my book.

Thinking nothing but positive thoughts for you my dear dear friend!!!

  7. WOW INDEED! So much nothing at all for so long, but here we go. I'm glad you're allowing hope in--it sure is reasonable. It's happening! It's a really good shot! It's hard not to imagine that one of those lucky oocytes currently maturing away in its follicle is going to be your son or daughter. And I'm glad you've got the long view in your back pocket to stave off anxiety, of which I imagine there will be loads.

For plane rides, I pack a big pile of papers I've been needing to read (because even though I just recycle them immediately, I find I'm much better about getting around to reading hard copies) AND a series of glossy, awful magazines I pick up at the newsstand. It's a nice combination--a little work, a little brain rot.

  8. Woo hoo!!! So very exciting! I am hoping it all goes smoothly and you get tons of eggs and tons of fantastic embryos. I bring trashy novels with me on the train makes the time fly by. Best of luck we are all rooting like mad for you.

  11. I am rooting for you, Augusta. I am so so optimistic that this is THE one for you. And I love that poster - I just ordered one to hang in my bedroom so I can look at it every single day when I wake up. I believe you can. I really do! xoxo

  12. Ohh, je suis tellement contente pour vous! Ça y est! Après tant d'attente, le grand jour approche. Je pense à vous très fort et garde les doigts croisés dans l'espoir d'une belle rencontre avec votre(vos) embryon(s).
